Apache & PHP

Here, you will find a set of step-by-step tutorials describing how to compile and install Apache & PHP on a number of Unix flavours.

Unlike most howtos you may find elsewhere, those ones also detail how to build every component and library Apache and PHP depend on, reducing the external dependencies on the target machine to the bare minimum (best for ISPs, server farms, NAS architectures...).

Everything you will find here was tested in full scale and the resulting packages currently run on several dozens of servers.

In order to keep these documents as reliable as possible, please keep me informed of any problem you may meet when using them (post a comment or drop me a mail, I reply to every message). When everything has run fine for you, you may also post a small comment with a short description of your architecture, it will also help.

I try to update these documents at least once a year, to reference only some recent stable versions for every components.
